Are you
a
good person?

Take the test!

** Please read through to the end to hear the whole story!

Are you a good person? Most people answer this question with a "Yes!" But how do you measure your goodness?

One of the tried and true tests of morality is the Ten Commandments.

Given to Moses thousands of years ago, these commandments still speak to us today.

  The Ten Commandments :

  1. You shall have no other gods before Me

  2. You shall not make yourself a graven image

  3. You shall not take God’s name in vain

  4. Remember the Sabbath, to keep it holy

  5. Honor your father and mother

6. You shall not murder

7. You shall not commit adultery

8. You shall not steal

9. You shall not lie

10. You shall not covet

Have you kept these basic commands? Have you ever lied? Have you ever used God's name in vain? And even if by some miracle you were able to keep all these commands, Jesus tells us that if we've ever looked at someone with lust then we have committed adultery. He also said that if we were angry with someone, then we have committed murder.

So if you're keeping score- almost all of us are liars, adulterers, blasphemers, and murderers according to God's moral standards.

So here's the reality- there are no "good people."

Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

Every single person is a sinner who is separated from God.

Romans 6:23 says "For the wages of sin is death...."

The penalty for sin is death. The holy and just God of all creation cannot tolerate our sin. We deserve death. But the next part of Romans 6:23 is GOOD NEWS! It says-

"....but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Even though we deserve God's punishment for our sin, God loved us enough to make a way for us to become good people!

We become good people by becoming God's people!

John 5:24 says "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life."

Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the price for all humanity's sin- past, present, and future! If you believe in Jesus Christ, and receive this free gift of salvation- then your sins are gone and you become a new creation! You can meet Jesus and give your life to Him today! If you're ready to know Jesus, here's how you can start:

ADMIT your need for God's forgiveness. Turn from your sins and stop trusting in anything else for eternal life. Start trusting in only Jesus!

BELIEVE that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross, came back from the grave, and is your only way to Heaven.

ACCEPT Jesus' offer to forgive your sins and become your Savior.

You can do this by simply praying to Jesus and asking Him to be your Savior.

That is a prayer He always answers!
