DISCOVER A CHURCH MINISTRY FOR YOU

From Bible studies to sewing circles, we have something for everyone! Are you looking to serve or connect with others in the church that have similar giftings and interests? Cross Road has a variety of ministry opportunities from which to choose.

  • A group primarily for the fellowshipping of 18–26-year-olds either working or going to college. 412Amplified is led by Will Woodyard and Eddie Dehaven. If you seek a place to study the Word with other like-minded believers your age, we welcome you to visit on Sundays at 10:45am.

  • 412Faithful is a group for those in grades 6-12. This group enjoys fellowship, snacks, Bible teachings, and worship. They also participate in camps, overnighters, and many other events. 412Faithful meets on Sundays at 9am for Sunday school and Wednesdays from 6-7:30pm for youth group. They also meet twice a month on Mondays for high schoolers for the Diving Deeper Bible study. 412 Faithful is led by Lyle Whitmore.

  • 412 Kids Ministry provides opportunities through programs and classes for kids to encounter Jesus through teaching, worship, and activities. The goal is for each kid to understand who God is, accept salvation, and continue to be discipled as they build a foundation of faith. 412 Kids is led by Katie Jackman.

  • If you are a mom with kids ages 18 and younger, you are a 412 Mom! We want every mom at Cross Road to have the chance to engage with other moms and build each other up as we strive to support our families according to God’s Word. We meet every 4th Saturday from 9-11am in the 412 room.Meetings include food, time for fellowship, and either a Bible study video and discussion, a service project, or even the occasional baby shower! Childcare is provided each month. 412 Moms is led by Tristyn Brotton.

  • A group of women within the church that send birthday cards to members of the congregation monthly. Stamps and cards are provided. The Cards Ministry is led by Jackie Sauder.

  • A group of women within the church that knit, crochet, and sew hats, scarves, blankets, and more for those in need. The Dorcas Ladies have partnered with Colvin Elementary within our community to provide items for children in need. Our Dorcas Ladies team is led by Sharon Dilks. They meet every other Monday afternoon from 1-3pm.

  • Family Game Night is an opportunity to fellowship over a wide selection of board games. Come and learn your family’s next favorite game and have a good time with friends! It is open to anyone, so invite someone to be blessed with a good time and fellowship. Feel free to borrow a game and play it with your family, friends, or life group and trade it out the next month. Family Game Night is led by Trever Leikam. This group meets on the 4th Friday every month from 6-10pm.

  • A group of women that make prayer quilts for people in our church who have serious health issues. The quilts are hung in the lobby with a list of prayer requests. The congregation is asked to stop by the quilt, read the prayer requests, and help finish the quilt by tying a knot in the threads while praying for the person. Fellowship Threads is led by Donna Hoover. They meet on Mondays from 6-8pm in the Safe Room.

  • A fun time of community gathering each Wednesday from 1 - 4 p.m. playing the card game Hand and Foot. This group is led by Jackie Sauder and filled with lots of love and laughter!

  • A group of Cross Road members that serve the church with in-person visits. Visits take place wherever needed – hospitals, after hospital stays, “just because”, etc. Most visits include two to three members of the group. The Honor Ministry team meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 1pm. Visits occur on an as-needed basis. The Honor Ministry is led by Sylvia Ziesenis.

  • A group whose responsibility is to create a welcoming environment rooted in biblical principles by being friendly, attentive to needs, and connecting people to the church’s community and activities. The group serves on Sunday mornings and as needed. The Hospitality team is led by Adrianne Hogan.

  • A group to provide a safe place for widows in Christ to gather in fellowship, to encourage, and to minister to one another through God’s love. The group meets on the 2nd Monday of every month at 10:30am in the 412Room. They enjoy a variety of activities like an Easter Bonnet contest, painting, guest speakers, snacks, devotions, New Year’s Day event, “field trips”, and more! This group is led by Sandy Jansen.

  • The Kitchen Team is responsible for the church kitchen anytime there is a church event that involves cooking. These include but are not limited to lunches for family members on the day of a funeral, dinners provided for Ability Point (Thankful Feast, Y.E.S.S. Picnic), Youth dinners, 412 Kids/Youth fundraisers, etc. This team maintains the kitchen and supplies help for any meals that involve kitchen use. The Kitchen Team is led by Vivian Rogers.

  • A group responsible for upkeep of the church ground. Duties include mowing, maintaining/improving grounds landscaping. These teams are led by Ilene Covey, Mike Freed, and Rob Whitley.

  • A group of Cross Road members that serve twice a month at the Lord’s Diner on south Hillside. The group serves on the 1st Friday of each month and on the 31 st of each month. The group does not prepare the food, just serves, and then a little clean up afterward. Volunteers need to arrive at 5:15pm and are done by 7:45pm. Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome. The Lord’s Diner volunteers are led by Mary Berg.

  • A group of men of all ages that meets to study and discuss the Bible. The group meets on Wednesday mornings from 6:30-7:30am in the 412room. The Men’s Bible Study is led by Ron Helvie.

  • A group of men that meet to study the Bible, fellowship, pray, and enjoy food together. The group meets on Friday evenings from 5:30-6:30 pm in the Safe Room. The Dad’s Bible Study is led by Will Woodyard.

  • A group that makes mats for the homeless out of recycled plastic grocery bags. These mats help keep homeless individuals off the extreme hot/cold concrete and provide a moisture barrier as well. Duties include gathering plastic bags from Dillons, flattening the bags, cutting them into strips, tying the strips together and rolling into balls, crocheting the mats, laminating tags with Bible verses to put on the mats, adding handles and ties, delivering the mats for distribution. The Mercy Mats group is led by Teresa Miller.

  • A group of volunteers who use their musical and tech related gifts to lead the congregation into worship on Sunday mornings. Team members prepare on their own time during the week, rehearse on Thursday evenings, and lead the worship services on Sunday, both through music (Praise Team) and by running sound, cameras, and lighting (Tech Team). They are always looking for skilled instrumentalists, vocalists, and volunteers with an interest in audio/visual production. The Praise and Tech teams are led by Tristyn Brotton.

  • A team that works in joint effort with WPD monitoring all exterior doors during service, monitoring radio for medical emergencies, assisting congregants to safety rooms in the event of severe weather, assist children’s teams with pick up by approved guardians, and assist with special events (VBS, Trunk or Treat, Thankful Feast, etc.). The Safety Team is lead by Mike Hoover. The Medical Team is led by Michael Winn.

  • A group of men that work on church building repairs, installations, grounds work, etc. This group meets on Thursday mornings. The Men’s Maintenance group is led by Roger Albrecht.

  • A group of women that meet to pray specifically for the church activities, staff members, trustees, deacons, etc. They also pray for the needs of each other and individuals in the church, for the nation, government, etc. It is a very sweet time in prayer. The Women’s Prayer Team is led by Susan Washee. They meet every Wednesday at 9:30am in the Safe Room.

  • A group of women that meet throughout the year to study through various Bible based guided lessons on multiple topics. The topics are announced throughout the year. The time together is filled with discussion and fellowship. Come join these women as they open God’s Word and encourage one another through sharing experiences in their faith journey. They meet Tuesday mornings from 10-11:30am in the 412room. The Women’s Tuesday Morning Bible Study is led by Barbara Brotton.

  • A group of women that meet with the intention of knowing the Word and being prepared to stand strong in their personal relationship with Jesus. The Women’s Evening Bible Study uses carefully selected study guides by credible Christian leaders, and all are approved by our Pastor. The Bible studies are usually on a book of the Bible or a topic related to becoming and growing as a Christian woman from a Biblical standpoint. The Women’s Evening Bible Study is led by Marianne Lee. They meet on Tuesdays from 6:30-8pm.

  • Young at Heart is a group of men and women ages 55+. They meet for two regularly scheduled events. Lunch Bunch is on the first Tuesday of every month. The Potluck Lunch is on the 3rd Thursday of every month. They also meet as needed for social time together. The Y.A.H. group is led by Roger Albrecht.
